Long nails are sexy.

They speak of a cat-like femininity that stirs the loins of this editorial staff.  

Their long tapered tips seemingly extend the length of the fingers and provide a mysterious air to the women who wear them.  Real ones are especially treasured not only for the maintenance that is required but also for the subtle statement they make about the wearer: they are seemingly a window into her exotic soul, a physical manifestation of the passionate rivers that flow deep within her.  This is not to disregard those ladies amongst us who apply a tip or use acrylics to strengthen their nails.  In fact, this, too, speaks of a commitment to strength and beauty that supercedes a natural predetermination.  Whereas the former is a wonder of nature, these ladies are not bound by physical limitations and take measures to ensure their beauty.  Both are committed to a lifestyle.  Both are on a plateau completely different than the dilettante, the dabbler, the woman who applies tips “because they’ll look pretty for the wedding.” 

And then there is the true wonder: the woman who recognizes her own special sexiness and becomes completely in touch with her attractiveness.  Not one to be bullied by social mores, this woman forges ahead dropping jaws in her wake.  Viva la diva!
